VGP – The PM has decided to spend additional VND321.6 billion ($15.1 million) from the State budget on rice field development and protection.
The money will be allocated to 18 localities across the country, including Ha Giang VND7.4 billion, Lang Son VND11,778 billion, Bac Kan VND 5.394 billion, Hai Phong VND16.4 billion, Hai Duong VND32,026 billion, Nam Dinh VND38.6 billion, Ninh Binh VND 16,976 billion, Ha Tinh VND 29.456 billion, Quang Tri VND 12.067, Quang Nam VND 21.713 billion, Binh Dinh VND24.937 billion, Phu Yen 13.436 billion, Khanh Hoa VND7.186 billion, Ninh Thuan VND7.549, Binh Thuan VND 21.575 billion, Dac Lak 19.797 billion, Ben Tre 10.969 billion and Ca Mau VND24.094 billion.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said Viet Nam’s 2014 rice production was estimated at 28 million tonnes, equivalent to 45 million tonnes of paddy, up almost 800,000 tonnes over 2013.
