VietNamNet Bridge – An American tourist aged 69 suddenly suffered a heart attack on a six-star cruise ship on the way from Thua Thien-Hue in central Vietnam to Quang Ninh in the north. Thanks to prompt first aid provided by Vietnamese rescuers, he survived.
Danang Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Danang MRCC) said the patient was Mr. M. Ross, a passenger on the Seven Seas Voyager cruise.
On the evening of February 1, the center was asked for urgent help from the cruise ship to rescue the patient who had a heart attack.
The center immediately sent a boat to take the patient to Da Nang Hospital for emergency aid at 11.30pm.
Doctors said on February 2 that the patient overcame the critical situation.
Seven Seas Voyager Cruise is a 6-star cruise ship of 203 m long, with more than 700 rooms.
The ship docked at the Chan May Port in Thua Thien-Hue province on the morning of February 1, carrying 710 international tourists. The ship left the port to Quang Ninh on the same evening.
