A delegation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Vietnam and the Central Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association on February 8 morning paid a working visit to Hai Duong province. Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC), received the delegation.
At the reception, PPC Chairman Nguyen Manh Hien appreciated the long-standing close relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia. The PPC Chairman generally stated the province’s achievements in socio-economic development and introduced a number of historical relics and tourist attractions to the delegates. At the same time, he desired the two peoples to together foster the Vietnam – Cambodia solidarity and friendship to be increasingly sustainable.
To memorize the meeting and further tighten the Vietnam – Cambodia relationship in general and Hai Duong people’s feelings for the land and people of Cambodia in particular, PPC Chairman Nguyen Manh Hien presented the delegation with two photos of the Statue of Lord Hung Dao Tran Quoc Tuan (An Phu mountain, Kinh Mon district) and green bean cakes, a gastronomic specialty of the Eastern land.
Mr. Hul Phany, Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam, and Mr. Vu Mao, Chairman of the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association, expressed their pleasure to visit and work in the province, concurrently acknowledged the gifts to show the heart and feelings of Hai Duong people for the delegation, and looked forward to other visits of the delegation to Hai Duong and conditions to organize activities to foster the good relationship between the two countries in the future.
After the working session with the PPC Chairman, the delegation visited Con Son – Kiep Bac relic site.
