Forbes Vietnam unveiled Monday its maiden “30 Under 30″ list, featuring 30 Vietnamese individuals who stand out in the industries they are part of, four years after Forbes U.S. introduced the list.

The list features familiar faces, particularly to young Vietnamese, including” />

Nguyen Ha Dong , the Hanoi-based app developer behind the addictive Flappy Bird mobile game; chess grandmaster Le Quang Liem; star comedian Huynh Tran Thanh; and hot vlogger Tran Duc Viet, aka JVevermind.

There are also individuals that are not widely known to the public, but are renowned in their own industries thanks to their achievements, such as Thi Anh Dao, a digital marketer, and Luong Duy Hoai, who specializes in e-commerce.

The “30 Under 30″ is a list of rising stars, born from 1985 on, of the next generation of leadership in different industries, from business and startup to entertainment and sports, Forbes Vietnam, which debuted in June 2013, said in a press release.

“They are full of the startup spirit, and are representatives of an active, confident generation that is able to control their own destiny, even though the businesses they are building do not have wide influence on the domestic and international market,” Forbes Vietnam said in its February issue.

The list was built based on nominees from members of the public, and a panel of judges, including prestigious entrepreneurs and experts, selected the 30 most outstanding faces for the list, according to Forbes Vietnam.

The list is meant to recognize the effort of Vietnamese youth and boost their startup spirit and desire for success, said Nguyen Bao Hoang, chairman of Interactive Media, the commercial representative for Forbes Vietnam.

Forbes Vietnam is slated to organize the Under 30 Summit Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City in April to lift the startup spirit and encourage local youths who desire success, according to its press release.

The magazine is published under a licensing agreement between Forbes Media LLC and Interactive Media, an IDG Ventures Vietnam portfolio company, and in cooperation with Van Hoa (Culture) newspaper.

Forbes Media LLC, the publisher of Forbes magazine, Forbes Asia magazine, and Forbes.com, is an authoritative source of news and information on business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership and affluent lifestyles.

Forbes U.S. released its fourth annual “30 Under 30″ list on January 5, featuring 600 young disruptors, innovators and entrepreneurs who it said “are transforming our world.”

The list has expanded to 20 categories this year (from 15 categories and 450 individuals), with each of the honorees, all under 30 years old, admitted by a panel of expert judges in their respective fields.
