PANO – The eighth traditional boat race of Dac Lac province was kick-started on February 22nd or the fourth day of the first lunar month of 2015 in Buon Trap town, Krong Ana district by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the district’s People’s Committee.
On board each boat are 15 rowers
The race drew the participation of more than 500 rowers from 32 teams. On board each boat are 15 rowers. They will row about 250 meters.
This annual event is organized to pray for peace, prosperity and good crops. It is also a healthy playground, meeting locals’ demand of enriching cultural and spiritual life during the lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
The organization of this event is also aimed at encouraging locals to play sports. It is among activities in celebration of the coming Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival.
