(VOV) – The Saigon New Port Corporation has announced a milestone in its US$1.1 million initiative to outfit its fleet with Go-live GPS container management technology, which aims to reduce congestion and wait times at the port.
Ngo Minh Thuan, deputy director of Sai Gon New Port Corporation said use of the new technology will reduce the time for container handling from 2-3 hours per container to 50 minutes, reduce traffic congestion and lower environmental pollution.
Getting this new technology up and running has marked an important milestone in transforming the Tan Cang Cat Lai terminal into one of the most modern ports in Vietnam.
