A delegation led by State President Truong Tan Sang presented Tet gifts to local authorities of Nhuan Duc Commune, Thien Phuoc Center for Disabled Children and excellent farmers in Cu Chi District on February 16.
Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also attended the event.
The President praised the efforts of the people and local authorities of Commune in changing Nhuan Duc into a new rural commune and improving the people’s living better.
The President asked the commune’s government to focus on increasing manufacturing capacity, quality of products, competition and efficiency of products in the “building new rural” program.
The President also visited good farmers in Nhuan Duc, Dang Le Thi Thanh Huyen who owns a 2-hectare farm of 1,000 cows and sheeps with a turnover of VND4.5 billion per year and Nguyen Van Trai who has run a 30-hectare garden of clean vegetables
He also offered Tet greetings to Professor Dr. Nguyen Chan Hung, former Director of the municipal Oncology Hospital and Chairman of the Vietnam Cancer Society, and praised his outstanding contributions to the healthcare, especially in cancer treatment.
President Truong Tan Sang expressed his hope that the doctor will do more for the country medical development.
On the same day, Mr. Sang met, talked and listened to the aspiration of researcher Nguyen Dinh Dau, People’s Artist Do Kim Cuong.
