(VOV) – Vietnam always creates the best possible condition for foreign businesses, including the Republic of Korea’s Fashion Group Hyungji, to expand investment and operate in the country.
State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan affirmed this at a reception for President of the Fashion Group Hyungji, Choi Byung Oh in Hanoi on February 9.
Ms Doan who is also Chairperson of the National Fund For Vietnamese Children’s Sponsorship Council spoke highly of the Korean group’s development investment in the northern province of Bac Giang, saying that in addition to business development, the group shows its social responsibility for the poor and single mothers in Asia, including Vietnam.
She stated that in recent times bilateral ties have been consolidated and developed. The RoK has become one of Vietnam’s leading strategic partners while Vietnam is also a leading strategic partner of the RoK in Southeast Asia.
She said the Vietnam Party and State have issued a number of policies and programmes on child care and education, however, it is very important and necessary to involve the whole society in these activities.
Vietnam has 2 million disadvantaged children, including a large number of Agent Orange/dioxin victims. Recently, they have received significant support from foreign businesses, particularly Korean groups.
For his part, Choi Byung Oh asserted that the group will continue to assist Vietnamese children.
On the occasion, he presented US$50,000 to the National Fund For Vietnamese Children (NFVC).
