Another 15 banks implement e-tax payment service

The General Department of Taxation on Tuesday signed an agreement with an extra of 15 joint stock commercial banks to implement electronic tax payment service.

According to the agreement, the department and the banks will work together to build the online payment system, train human resources, popularize and mobilize tax payers to use the service.


Last year, the department carried out a similar agreement with five banks to launch the system in 18 provinces and cities nationwide.


The banks include Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, and Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank.


By the end of February, 24,000 businesses registered to pay over VND14 trillion (US$656.66 million) of taxes online.


The 15 banks signed the agreement this year are An Binh Bank, HCMC Development Bank, Asia Commercial Bank, Saigon Commercial Bank, Vietnam Maritime Bank, Vietnam International Bank, Vietnam Technical Commercial Bank, Vietnam Prosperity Bank, Saigon Hanoi Bank, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank, TienPhong Bank, Lien Viet Post Bank, the Housing Bank of Mekong Delta, Saigon Thuong Tin, and Viet Capital Bank.
