The Hai Duong Provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s Standing Board on March 26 afternoon summarized the donation mobilization for the fund “Day for the Poor” in 2014 and the first quarter of 2015.
Since early 2014, the Provincial Mobilization Board for “Day for the Poor” has actively called for funding sources to help poor households rise up, develop the economy, and sustainably escape poverty.
The mobilization board has raised over VND9.2 billion, built 75 “great unity” houses with a total budget of more than VND3.6 billion, and presented 3,672 gifts worth over VND1.2 billion to poor households on the occasions of holidays and the Lunar New Year.
In addition, the mobilization board has lent 15 poor people who are members of the Provincial Blind Association VND150 million without interest for economic development, unexpectedly assisted 13 poor households with a total amount of VND65 million, etc.
In the coming time, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s Standing Board will intensify mobilization of collectives, individuals, and benefactors to support funds “For the Poor” at all levels, donate VND100 million to the Provincial Red Cross Society to buy five breeding cows for five poor households in the province, and coordinate with the Phu Yen Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to present two “great unity” houses in Phu Yen.
