(VOV) -Vietnam always places great importance and high priority on consolidating the sound neighbourly relations with Cambodia, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has told President of the Cambodian National Assembly Heng Samrin.
At a March 28 reception for the Cambodian NA leader who is in Hanoi for the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU-132), Trong glowingly spoke of the Cambodian NA and Mr Heng Samrin for their active support for Vietnam in hosting the great international parliamentary event and believed that the Cambodian delegation’s participation would contribute to the success of the IPU-132.
Trong expressed his delight at the growing ties between the two nations and hailed the results of cooperation between the two law-making bodies, suggesting the two sides ensure the effective implementation of agreements as agreed by the two governments for mutual benefit and for cooperation and development in the region.
For his part, the Cambodian NA leader applauded Vietnam’s tremendous achievements in national construction and protection and wished the IPU-132 a great success thus contributing to realization of common IPU goals.
On the occasion, Trong extended best regards to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, and Queen Mother Monineath Sihanouk and other leaders.
