(VOVworld) – Indian Deputy President Hamid Ansari has praised the fine development of Indian-Vietnamese relations, especially in politics, economics, trade, investment, security, defense, education, training, culture, and technology.
At Friday’s reception for the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee President Nguyen Thien Nhan, Hamid called on both countries to fully tap possible cooperative potential and remove barriers to boost bilateral cooperation.
VFF President Nhan said Vietnam is ready to be a link between India and ASEAN and will strengthen cooperation with India in road and aviation to develop tourism, trade and economic exchanges.
During the 3-day visit to India which will conclude on Sunday, Nhan met Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of the Lok Sabha or the lower house of India. Nhan said Vietnamese National Assembly’s Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung is scheduled to visit India this year. Sumitra spoke highly of the bilateral ties between India and Vietnam and the two legislative bodies.
At a meeting with Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrika, Nhan said Vietnam always attaches great importance to the relations with India and supports India’s Act East policy and India’s increasing role in the region and the world at large.
