The program aims to raise awareness of community; to minimize the demand on wildlife-originated products; and to strengthen the bilateral relation on environmental security.

On March 3, the United States Embassy in Vietnam and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have launched the program “Operation Game Change” in order to establish an alliance to stop the illegal wildlife trade, especially in rhino horn.

Being responsible for biodiversity to the Government, Deputy Minister of MONRE Bui Cach Tuyen said that the protection of endangered species from illegal hunting and trade requires the active participation of not only the Government’s agencies but also the social organizations, non-governmental organizations, and every individual. Therefore, “The program is an important initiative and requires the active participation of the Government’s bodies and other wildlife organizations”, the Deputy Minister emphasized.
