On April 12th, former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton officially announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the Presidencial office in the 2016 election.

In a video released on her new campaign website, Clinton said “I’m running for president. Americans have fought their way back from tough economic times, but the deck is still stacked in favor of those at the top. Everyday Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion.”


“So I’m hitting the road to earn your vote. Because it’s your time and I hope you’ll join me on this journey.”


The announcement launches Clinton on a second campaign to make history by becoming the first woman to be president of the United States.


Hillary Clinton is an American attorney, politician and member of the Democratic Party. She was the 67th United States Secretary of State, serving under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013. She previously represented New York in the United States Senate from 2001 to 2009 and in the 2008 election, Clinton was a leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination


Earlier, on April 7th, Republican Senator Rand Paul formally announced his candidacy for the president nomination in 2016 after serving 4 years as a U.S. senator.


Also on March 22nd, Texas Republican Senator, Ted Cruz announced he would to participate in the race./.
