Chairman of Vietnam union of Science and Technology Associations Dang Vu Minh at the Congress
The provincial union of Science and Technology Association on April 01 held the fifth Representative Congress, term 2015-2020.
Chairman of Vietnam union of Science and Technology Associations Dang Vu Minh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Tran Ngoc Cang, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Van Minh, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Quang Thich, representatives of related departments and agencies, provinces’ union of science and technology associations of Kon Tum, Dac Lak, Binh Dinh and Da Nang, and 126 official delegates that representatives for nearly 14,000 members in the province attended the Congress.
Opening the Congress, PhD Nguyen Kim Hieu – Chairman of the provincial union of science and technology associations affirmed that in the last term, the Union and its members have implemented well the political mission, confirming the role of a political-social organization, contributing to the socio-economic development at the local.
With 19 member associations and nearly 14,000 members, within 5 years, the Union has advised and assessed nearly 200 projects, works in difference fields such as traffic, construction, irrigation; provided direct criticism and approval for dozen of science and technology subjects at provincial level; applied 21 solutions into production; etc.
In addition, members associations have implemented comprehensively and effectively scientific researches, technological and environment development, contributing to the successful implementation of the province’s socio-economic development targets.
Chairman of Vietnam union of Science and Technology Associations Dang Vu Minh highly valued achievements gained by the province’s union in the last term, meanwhile hoped to see more researches and initiatives relating to science, technology, education, etc.
Vice Chairman of the PPC Le Quang Thich acknowledged great contributions of the Union into the province’s development in recent years and said that in the time to come, the Union should continue to affirm the role of a political-social organization by creative science and technology activities, acquiring science-technology successes; focusing on researching, applying and handing over science-technology into production; etc.

The Congress elected 42 representatives to the Executive Committee of the Union in the term 2015-2020, PhD Nguyen Kim Hieu continued to be elected Chairman of the provincial Union of Scientific and Technical Associations in the new term.
Excellent collectives and individuals receive Certificate of Merit
By the occasion, the Vietnam union of Science and Technology Associations offered campaign medals for 09 individuals and Certificate of Merit for 04 collectives and 07 individuals for their excellent contribution into activities of the provincial Union.
