PANO – The Steering Committee of the Ministry of National Defence for UN peacekeeping operations held a ceremony on April 17th to roll out its tasks in 2015 and following years.


Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Centre Senior Colonel Hoang Kim Phung briefed on its major activities this year, especially in well preparing for deploying a level-two field hospital and an engineer unit in South Sudan in appropriate time.


He affirms that the UN had highly applauded the task performances of the first two Vietnamese officers in the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).


Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defence Minister, valued the Vietnam Peacekeeping Centre’s efforts since its establishment and asked it to continue strengthening the staff’s capability as well as furthering training for the possible participation in suitable UN peacekeeping missions.
