Da Nang city boosts agricultural production

Over the past five years, the agricultural production value in Da Nang city has increased 3.02% per year on average, while the agricultural sector shows an increase in the breeding industry and reduced planting industry, making the fisheries and forestry industries turn into high economic value production.

The information was announced during a meeting to review the implementation of the Party Central Committee 7th meeting, term X on agriculture, farmers and rural areas.

Da Nang city said that it had strongly applied high technologies in agricultural production, contributing to raising the income per capita in rural areas in 2012 to VND19 million, an increase of 37.26% compared to 2008.


Regarding infrastructure, statistics during the meeting showed that 100% of communes had roads, 100% of families had access to the national power grid and irrigation works reached 100% of rice areas.


In 2008-2012, the city pulled 24,204 families out of poverty, and is striving to eliminate poverty in the city by 2015 by helping 3,500-4,500 families escape poverty each year.


It also targets to raise annual per capita income to VND22-25 million by 2015 and VND35 million by 2020./.
