(VEN) – On June 13 in Hanoi, a program designed to improve the export competitiveness of Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through local trade promotion systems was officially kicked off.
This program is funded by the Swiss government and will be implemented within four years with total expenditure of US$3.8 million. The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) will preside over the implementation of the program under the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Vietrade director Do Thang Hai said the program was aimed at improving the export competitiveness of Vietnamese SMEs, thus increasing the export value and promoting major export sectors of Vietnam.
The program is also aimed at concretizing Vietnam’s policies to expand the market for domestic businesses, helping them reduce inventories and promote production and trade.
The implementation of the program will start in early July with three localities (Hai Phong, Da Nang and Can Tho) selected to join it in the initial period./.
