The Hanoitimes - The National Assembly yesterday cast votes of confidence on 47 officials holding positions elected or approved by the legislature.
The result of the vote was expected to be announced at this morning's session.
The confidence vote specifies three degrees: high confidence, confidence and low confidence.
The positions subject to a confidence vote were the President, Vice President, NA Chairman, NA Vice chairpersons, NA Standing Committee members, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other members of the Government, Chief Judge of the Supreme People's Court and General Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said that all the 47 prescribed officials had submitted reports on their work performance and results during their time in office.
"These are the most important information sources for NA deputies to consider before the vote," Hung said.
The NA chairman said the current situation of social economic development, security and national defence, international relations and justice as the other factors that needed to take into account.
"The situation reflects the results of the country's governance system in general, as well as those who are undergoing the vote in particular," Hung said.
Another source of information to be weighed before the vote were the opinions and recommendations from voters nationwide, he added.
"This is a double vote as the voters vote for NA deputies then the deputies vote, as the implementation of their political and judicial powers, for themselves," said the NA leader
