The Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, played host to the Ukrainian Ambassador to Viet Nam, Mr Oleksiy Shovkoplias, on Monday (January 14) The Ukrainian diplomat said that Da Nang’s investment climate is very attractive to his country’s businesses. As a result, overseas Vietnamese businesses from the Ukraine have invested in 10 projects so far in Da Nang, with a total investment of close to 2 billion USD. These include the Ba Na-Suoi Mo, Bai Bac, and Sunrise Bac My An tourism areas, the Hoa Xuan eco-tourism area, plus the Han Riverside Trade and Services Centre.
The visiting guest promised to do his utmost to call for more large Ukrainian companies to invest in the city’s infrastructure and tourism in the near future.
Chairman Chien remarked that the visit by the Ukrainian diplomat would help to strengthen the bilateral relations and cooperation, especially in the economic and trading sectors.
He told his guest that his city was giving top priority to promoting the development of its tourism, services, high-tech and IT industries. He also affirmed that the Da Nang Government was rolling out the red carpet to foreign entrepreneurs and investors, especially those from the Ukraine.
The city leader hoped that Da Nang-Ukraine direct flights would be opened soon, which should help to expand bilateral investment opportunities, with a focus on the tourism sector.
