PANO – The Lung Lo Construction Group under the Ministry of Defence, the Dac Nong provincial Command and Division 330 under Military Zone 9 granted 16 houses of gratitude to needy beneficiaries to address their housing shortage.
Accordingly, the Lung Lo Construction Group, in association with the People’s Committee of Khai Son commune in Anh Son district, Nghe An province, handed over a house of gratitude to the family of martyr Nguyen Huu Thach who died in battle along the southwestern border in the Vietnam War.
The house was built on an area of 56sq.m, at a cost of VND 65 million from the unit’s troops and employees. It took the group 56 days to build the house. The group also presented a VND 10 million savings book to the family.
Meanwhile, the Border Guard Command in Dac Nong province presented 13 “Truong Son Sentiment” gratitude houses of 40-50sq.m each, in the second drive in 2013 to support impoverished households in border localities of the province.
These houses are worth VND 60-70 million each. Of which, the organizing panel of the Truong Son Sentiment Program, including Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper and the Border Guard High Command, spent VND 45 million for each house, and the remainder comes from local businesses and sponsors.
In addition, Division 330 presented the first two 60sq.m houses of the “VND 100 house” campaign, launched by the unit’s youths, to its needy commissioned officers.
