PANO – 120 ship owners and captains were provided with knowledge of the Law of the Sea at a conference organised by the Khanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command, the Central Coast Radio Station and Region 7′s Radio Frequency Centre, on July 22nd.
During the conference, the participants studied legal documents on sovereignty, sovereign rights over Vietnam’s seas, and methods to cope with unexpected circumstances at sea, making contributions to heightening vigilance and promoting solidarity to protect the lives and property of fishermen, and national sovereignty over sea and islands. They also studied the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and Laws of National Border and Sea of Vietnam.
