On July 1, Laos National Radio opened a Vietnamese training course for all staff of the station.
An opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos and the leadership board of the Laos National Radio.
Joining the course are over 150 staff from the Laos National Radio, mostly young people. However, some older officers felt that it is necessary to know the Vietnamese language so they also joined the course.
At the opening ceremony of the three month training course, Mr Sypha Nonglath, General Director of the Laos National Radio, said that Vietnamese language is very important needed in the special relationship between Laos and Vietnam in general, between the Laos National Radio and the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in particular. Over the past time, the two national stations have always had deep ties in various fields such as personnel training, technical, material and equipment exchanges and help the Lao National Radio repair and maintain broadcast stations.
The trainees of the Vietnamese training course said that knowing Vietnamese not only helps the staff of the Laos National Radio coordinate with the Voice of Vietnam but also provides opportunities for Laos National Radio to integrate into ASEAN and international press community and as Laos and Vietnam are two countries, which are always side by side for development./.
