VietNamNet Bridge – This morning, June 4, the driver of Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Province Tran Minh Ca came to Ca’s home to take him to a meeting. After waiting for the official for a long time, the driver opened Ca’s home and found that he had died.
Mr. Tran Minh Ca. Mr. Dinh Van Thu, another Vice Chairman of Quang Nam, said that Ca died at home because of heart disease and high blood pressure. “This morning I drove the car to his house on Phan Boi Chau Road, Tam Ky City to take him to the meeting of the People’s Council. I waited for him for a long time but he did not appear. I phoned him but he did not answer. I attempted to open the door and discovered that he had died,” said the driver named Phong.
In the afternoon of July 3, Ca attended the meeting of the People’s Council meeting. After that he chaired a meeting to review the organization of the Quang Nam Heritage Festival, which took place on June 20-26.
After the meeting, he – as the chief organizer of the Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2013 pageant – talked on the phone with Dr. Doan Thi Kim Hong – the vice chief organizer on the suspicion that Miss Vietnam Ethnic 2013 Ngoc Anh “bought” the crown.
On July 3, talking to the press about the suspicion, Ca confirmed that the rumor was wrong because the jury members are famous and prestigious artists and writers. Ngoc Anh has a good record and she is a student so she did not have VND1.5 billion ($75,000) to buy the crown.
During the Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2013 pageant, Ca followed all activities of the competition. In the finale, he presented the prize to the beauty queen.
Ca, 56, is a doctor of economics, a member of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee. He was praised by people as a good official.
