Traditional martial arts championship opens

PANO – Army Corps 4, the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation and the Military Martial Arts Federation opened the National Traditional Martial Arts Championship 2013 at the corps’ sporting hall on the evening of July 19th.

The eight-day tourney attracts 222 athletes from 27 teams of 21 cities and provinces nationwide, including three teams from Military Zone 5, Military Zone 7 and Army Corps 4.


Athletes will compete for 35 sets of medals for the men’s and women’s close combat and quan fighting.


The tournament is a good chance to improve athletes’ skills and assess training in localities.


In the first day of the competition, the organizing panel presented 5 sets of medals to athletes in quan fighting.
