Vietnam-Laos Youth Friendly Meeting Program concludes

PANO – The closing ceremony of the 2013 Vietnam-Laos Youth Friendly Meeting Program was held on July 21st in Cua Lo town, Nghe An province, by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union.

During the seven-day program, Vietnamese and Lao youths had the opportunity to exchange and learn more about the special traditional relations of the two parties and two nations, as well as discuss concerned issues.


At the ceremony, Mr. Khampha Phimason, Deputy Secretary of the Central Committee of Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union, expressed his deep gratitude to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, party committees, local authorities and youth unions of Hanoi and provinces of Tuyen Quang and Nghe An, for creating the most favourable conditions for the delegation during the program.


“We are proud of the unique and long-lasting traditional cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, which was built with the sweat, blood and tears of former generations. Therefore, younger generations have to preserve and promote this beautiful tradition”, said Mr. Khampha Phimason.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Phan Van Mai, the Permanent Secretary of the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, said that with the efforts of both sides, the program concluded successfully, making contributions to promoting understanding among youths of the two countries and consolidating the beautiful relations of the two Parties, nations, peoples and youths.


On July 22nd, the Lao delegation visited Nam Dan district, Uncle Ho’s hometown, before coming home.
