The Indonesian ship with 8 sailors on board was left adrift in bad weather about 5 nautical miles from Phu Quy Island, after its engine broke down on the way from Ben Tre province to Vung Tau city in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province for maintenance on the previous day.

Immediately after getting the news, the Marine Police Region 3 sent its on-duty ship 2010 for the rescue mission.

All the crew members had their health checked before being taken ashore.
