Entering the 21st century, personal computers with powerful computational capabilities have become a common commodity. As a result, numerical analysis is no longer only for specialists, but it is quickly becoming a tool that all engineers involved in manufacturing can utilize. Large foreign corporations have established manufacturing and assembling facilities in Vietnam. Vietnam’s supporting industry has a lot of opportunities for development. However, the requirements are big hindrances for Vietnam’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who often lack capital as well as experienced technicians and professionals.
Vietnam Business Forum interviewed Mr Nobuhiko Masuda, Sales Manager of Numerical Simulation Tech Co., Ltd (NST Japan Co., Ltd.) to disseminate the comprehensive numerical analysis approach to engineering problems. Ha Vu reports.
What is your point of view about the economy and trends of Vietnam’s industrial growth, especially supporting industries, now and after the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) takes full effect?
Vietnam is in the process of industrialization and modernization, the economy is expected to continue growth over the coming years. To support the boom, firms need to cut costs, shorten development time, and improve product quality.
Economy in the ASEAN region is expected to increasingly develop and Vietnam with many advantages will become the centre of that development. Vietnam’s supporting industries have both challenges and opportunities to handle.
To develop industrialisation, Vietnam needs to be competitive in industrial products. However, supporting industries of Vietnam currently remain weak. Vietnam has very little information about linkages of supporting industry or databases about companies specialising in supporting industries. And importantly, Vietnam’s supporting industry has not created value chains constituted by business linkages, even using financial or non-financial services to tap competitive advantages.
Could you briefly describe your first role in Vietnam? What’s your expectation?
NST Vietnam established as universal Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) will have beneficial effects to support manufacturing in Vietnam. Established in Vietnam, our purpose is in the universal CAE we will contribute to the development of many manufacturing sectors in Vietnam.
CAE is not simply as part of the support industry specific that it is technically available in all areas contributing to improve product quality and reduce costs. CAE is manipulation techniques on computer-aided calculation methods bases on simulation data such as algorithm FEM (Finite Element Method). By manipulating the computer simulation we can run models simulating production and fine-tune the design, cut costs and improve quality before ever actually making the product.
CAE is widely used in many fields such as production designer universe, shipbuilding, railways, nuclear education, automobiles, machinery, electrical precision. Hence if the universal CAE, we will contribute to the development of production in Vietnam in various fields from the base unit of society such as energy, transport and enhancing competitiveness in manufacturing and production.
CAE can support diverse areas such as education, research and manufacturing, all areas in which companies are customers of NST Vietnam.
What is the marketing strategy of NST Vietnam?
Numerical Simulation Tech Co., Ltd was founded in 1992. The history of company represents the history of development and diffusion of computational engineering. NST provides truly useful numerical analysis tools and also offers seamless support in all stages of numerical analysis, ranging from the installation of numerical analysis tools to operation by leveraging its know-how obtained through abundant experience in the field of numerical analysis. The company strives to contribute to those involved in manufacturing through numerical analysis technology, in order to advance production activities. |
CAE users are those who have a broad knowledge of the rich areas related to physics, mathematics, must be able to read the results of calculation methods set up software CAE, the knowledge of the finite element method. To provide CAE services to clients, the technical staff of NST Vietnam needs to equip themselves with the ability to use CAE.
We currently have 5 well-trained staff in this field, plus 20 years of accumulated experience in the field at NST Japan, we will help this team of engineers and technical maturity during high shortest.
After AEC takes effect, the competition for power equipment products in Vietnam will rise, and with our accumulated experience we will absolutely have many opportunities to provide services to customers at CAE all fields.
