Hanoi to investigate intangible cultural heritage

Hanoi city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has promulgated a project on investigating intangible cultural heritage in the capital with a total investment of over VND13 billion.

Under to the project, intangible cultural heritages to be investigated include the voice and writing of ethnic minority groups in the city, folk literature, folk art performances, social customs, traditional festivals, traditional handicrafts and folk knowledge.

Investigations will be conducted in all villages and inhabited areas in 379 communes, 154 precincts and two towns of 28 districts in the city. Dong Anh district alone conducted pilot investigations in 2011, with capital from the National Objective Programme of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the budget of Dong Anh district People’s Committee.

Hanoi city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will also make scientific profiles on intangible cultural heritage to propose for the list of national intangible cultural heritages./.
