The General Statistics Office (GSO) said Vietnam welcomed nearly 4.2 million international tourists in the first seven months of 2103, up 5.9 percent year on year. Visitor arrivals from China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Russia, the UK and Thailand increased in the reporting period.
A representative from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said, amid slow economic recovery, the rise in international tourist arrivals to Vietnam in the first seven months was a positive sign. However, the tourism industry has to double efforts to realise the goal of 7 million international tourists in 2013.
