VietNamNet Bridge – The 68th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2) has been celebrated in many countries.
At a meeting in Bangkok on August 29, Vietnamese ambassador to Thailand Ngo Duc Thang spoke highly of the growing relations between Vietnam and Thailand, especially since their Joint Cabinet Meeting in October, 2012 and Party Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to the country last June.
The establishment of strategic partnership has lifted bilateral ties to a new height, making them one of important pillars to support the formation of an ASEAN Community by 2015.
Bilateral economic and investment cooperation has grown rapidly with two-way trade revenue hitting US$10 billion last year.
Thailand now has more than 3000 investment projects worth US$6.11 billion in Vietnam while Vietnam has seven projects estimated at US$11.35 million in Thailand.
+++At another get-together in Guangzhou (China) Vietnamese Consul General To Quoc Tuan expressed his pleasure at the development of Vietnam-China comprehensive ties, especially after Party Secretary General Trong and State President Truong Tan Sang’s visits to China in October, 2011 and June, 2013 respectively.
On these occasions, the two sides worked out measures to promote the exchanges of high-level visits, strengthen the important role of the Vietnam-China Cooperation Committee and promote economic, cultural, educational, medical and scientific and technological cooperation.
He expressed strong belief that relations between Vietnamese localities and Guangzhou will continue to grow and flourish on the basis of Vietnam-China comprehensive and strategic agreements.
