During the meeting of the steering committee on the prevention of poultry diseases, Dam Xuan Thanh, deputy head of the Veterinary Department under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, confirmed that diseases among animals and poultry had been kept under control.
However, he noted that there was still the possibility of a recurrence of disease, especially around places that had reported outbreaks earlier. Therefore, he urged provinces and cities to increase vaccination of all animals and poultry in high-risk areas.
Localities will also be responsible for building plans on the prevention of disease, buying and administering vaccines, mapping the epidemics, and identifying kinds of viruses and kinds of vaccines to assist in prevention.
So far, the country is still reporting foot-and-mouth disease./.
