On September 3, 2013, Denmark officially opened a new Visa Application centre in Ho Chi Minh City. The centre will be operated by the international company VFS Global.
From Sep 3, 2013, all applications for short term Schengen visas to Denmark, Iceland and Lithuania as well as visas to Greenland and the Faroe Islands should be submitted at the Visa Application Centre. Applications for work and residence permits to Denmark should also be submitted here.
The opening of the Visa Application Centre in Ho Chi Minh City will facilitate a smoother process for the applicants as the Application Centre offers longer opening hours and no requirement for a prior appointment. The Application Centre also offers additional services such as online tracking of the application status and courier delivery.
Danish Ambassador John Nielsen said that the new Visa Application Centre in Ho Chi Minh City would help improve the service in the consular area. Smooth and effective visa handling is a key to strengthening the increased exchange – commercially, culturally, and politically, between Vietnam and Denmark.
Another Visa Application Centre will also open in Hanoi on November 1, 2013.
