Vietnam Television and Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) have launched a film titled ‘Nguoi Cong Su’ (Fellow Worker) in a joint co-production.
The movie marks the 45th year of establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Japan.
The 120-minute film is a love story between Japanese businessman Tetsuya Higashiyama Noriyuki and a Vietnamese girl named Lien. Their love was challenged by Tetsuya’s stepdaughter, Sakura.
The businessman also faced many problems at work. These obstacles led him on a journey to Vietnam to search for answers. During the journey, he unexpectedly came upon the story of a friendship between the renowned Vietnamese revolutionary Phan Boi Chau and a Japanese doctor Asaba Sakitaro.
The film honors a relationship that took place 100 years ago and features Phan Boi Chau’s activities in Japan in the 1990s while he was seeking ways to gain independence for the country.
The film will be aired in Japan and on VTV1 Channel in Vietnam on September 29.
