PANO – The first “Ngo” boat race festival of Khmer people in the Mekong River Delta will take place in Soc Trang city, Soc Trang province from November 14th to 17th.
Besides the special events in the opening and closing ceremonies, the festival includes “Ngo” boat races, a trade fair, a photo exhibition, and folk games.
It aims to popularize the province’s tourism potential in line with preserving and bringing into play the local unique cultural value.
According to the organization panel, the festival is planned to draw 60 “Ngo” boat teams, both men’s and women’s, from provinces of Tra Vinh, Ca mau, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, Hau Giang and Vinh Long, Can Tho city and the host Soc Trang.
