PANO – 32 statues of President Ho Chi Minh are being displayed at a month-long exhibition from September 20th at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Ho Chi Minh City by the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
A contest on designing Uncle Ho’s statues was launched for sculptors across the country to prepare for the construction of his statue at the Head Office of the city’s People’s Committee. The organization panel received 32 works and selected three of them for the final round.
However, in order to get the best work that could meet the artistic requirement, and depict President Ho Chi Minh’s charisma and his love for his compatriots and soldiers in southern Vietnam and at the same time to be worthy of the city named after the President, the People’s Committee decided to display all works to receive feedbacks from public, especially from leaders, former-senior officials, scientists and researchers.
