Vietnamese cultural festival 2013 held in Germany

The Consulate General of Vietnam in Frankfurt and the overseas Vietnamese community in Rhein – Main and its adjacent areas have organized a Vietnamese cultural festival 2013 in the city of Oberursel, Hesse state, Germany.


Consulate General Truong Xuan Thanh said that the organization of the festival helps international friends and generations of overseas Vietnamese in Germany better understand the unique culture, art, music, dance, martial arts and cuisine in Vietnam’s different regions.


On this occasion, Mr. Truong Xuan Thanh also called upon overseas Vietnamese people to deeply integrate into the society, abide by the law of Germany, the manners and customs of localities, unite and support each other to further contribute to the development of the local country and make a bridge for Vietnam – Germany friendship and together toward the fatherland.


On behalf of the government of the city of Oberursel, Mayor Hans Georg Brum thanked the Consulate General and the overseas Vietnamese community for choosing Oberursel to host the cultural festivals this year. According to Mr. Brum, the festival would help German people learn about Vietnam’s culture. He also expressed his admiration and appreciation of the learning spirit as well as the integration determination of Vietnam. He also affirmed that the presence of the overseas Vietnamese community had contributed to enriching this nation.


At the festival, the participants enjoyed special music items performed by many singers, artists from the Vietnam National Music and Dance Theatre, and a traditional long dress performance.


In the framework of the festival, the organizing board also exhibited fine art products, food booths and cuisine culture with dishes from the three regions of Vietnam./.
