During the talks, the Vietnamese general stressed that the upgrading of the Vietnamese martyrs’ monuments in Lao provinces of Attapeu, Xiangkhouang, Udomxay and in Vientiane would help educate the young generation about the solidarity and special friendship and loyalty between the two nations, especially the Vietnam-Laos combat alliance.

For his part, the Lao general appreciated Vietnam’s recommendation, promised to submit the suggestions to the Lao Politburo, Secretariat and Prime Minister for approval as soon as possible, and believed that the two Governments of Laos and Vietnam would reach consensus on the upgrading of the Vietnamese martyrs’ monuments in Laos.
