PANO – Army Corps 18 of the Ministry of National Defence opened a command-staff and field exercise, coded BD-13, on October 3rd in Hanoi.
The exercise aimed to check and assess commanders’ capability for organization and management when shifting combat readiness posture, and for preparations for taking command in combat. After the exercise, shortcomings will be noted and combat plans will be adjusted for defence and security missions in the new context.
The two-day exercise included shifting combat readiness posture, combat preparations and practice.
Leaders from the corps and its affiliated units took part in the command-staff exercise, while cadres and troops from the Northern Helicopter Corporation under the corps, Air force Brigade 918 and the Engineering Arm, joined the field exercise.
On October 4th, the corps successfully sent its helicopters to fly elite troops of the Commando Arm for an airborne landing in an anti-terrorism rehearsal.
