Indonesia and China will swap auditors between their supreme audit agencies to study each other’s audit mechanisms and systems in a move to expand cooperation.

Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Chairman Hadi Purnomo told reporters about the plan on the sidelines of the 21st World Conference of the International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI) in Beijing, China.

Indonesia and China may focus on the oil and mining audit as they face common problems in the fields of environment, natural resources, mining, and petroleum, he noted.

BPK signed a cooperation agreement with China’s Supreme Audit Agency in 2011 and similar documents with countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and the United States earlier.

It is also expected to sign agreements with their Filipino and Polish counterparts on the sidelines of the 21st INCOSAI conference.-VNA
