Hang was ordered to compensate over VND210 billion for 59 victims. There are 13 other defendants involved in the case who got prison terms from five to 13 years.
Meanwhile, the court decided that Prudential will not have to compensate for the victims. Hang was also ordered to compensate over VND640 million for the insurer to cover the losses caused.
Hang was arrested while on the run with more than US$14 million she illegally got from local people in 2011. She was found to offer fake insurance products that gave insurance policy holders high bonuses when the contracts expired.
