(Cinet)- The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will hold the Red River Delta Food Festival, National Tour Guide Contest and national hotel Front Office Competition in Hai Phong city from October 12-17, 2013.
The Red River Delta Food Festival will take place from October 12-15, 2013 at Hai Phong Youth Culture and Sports Palace with 50 stands of 30 participants from 11 provinces and cities for culinary art performances.
More than 70 tour guides representing for the localities and tourism businesses in the country will participate in preliminary round of national Tour Guides Contest from October 13 – 15, 2013 at Sea Stars Hotel. The candidates will answer questions about professional knowledge (guiding skills), general knowledge, handling situations, presentation skills. Twenty qualified tour guides will continue to participate in the Final Contest on October 17, 2013 at the Hai Phong Opera House. They will take part in eloquent and foreign language competitions, and answer the examiners’ questions.
The third event will happen from October 13 – 16, 2013. Its preliminary round (from October 13-15, 2013, at Camela Hotel in Hai Phong) will have the attendance of 90 hotel receptionists from 17 provinces and cities nationwide. The Final and closing ceremony of the Competition will be held on October 16, 2013 at the Hai Phong Opera House.
These are important events for tourism industry to honour its jobs which provide an opportunity for the tour guides, receptionists, cooks to improve their skills and contribute to raising the quality of tourism services and satisfying tourists’ demands.
