Both the Government and businesses of Italy have paid an increasing attention to Vietnam in recent years and are trying to promote the presence of Italian key, traditional products in the potential market, said Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Lorenzo Angeloni.

Over the last three years, many State-level and B2B agreements between the two countries have been signed and many trade missions to Vietnam have been organized to help Italian companies find business cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese partners, especially in the fields of garments and textiles, footwear, wine, furniture, machinery and others, the ambassador noted.

To remark the 40-year Anniversary of Vietnam and Italy in 2013, the Italy’s Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City will be launched on December 30, said Mr. Lorenzo Angeloni, adding that six Italy’s trade promotion events have been organized successfully in Vietnam, such as the third installment of the famed wine tasting event, called “Tuscany – Land of wine”.

At the wine tasting event named “Tuscany – Land of wine” held on November 11 in Ho Chi Minh City and on November 13 in Hanoi, offered by Toscana Promozione, in cooperation with Siena Chamber of Commerce, Siena City Trade Promotion Bureau, Italian Trade Commission in HCMC, and support from the Italian Embassy in Vietnam, twenty four well-known wine makers from Tuscany will bring to Vietnamese wine experts and importers their finest products in an attempt to satisfy consumers’ increasingly sophisticated and refined tastes.

According to Mr. Lorenzo Millo, General Manager of Promosiena, the event not only opens the doors to lucrative business opportunities for businesses in the wine industry of both Italy and Vietnam, but serves as a demonstration of commitment and profound interest of the organizers in the highly potential Vietnam wine market.
