On November 14, a majority of National Assembly (NA) deputies voted to approve Mr Nguyen Van Nen, Party Central Committee (PCC) member and Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Popularization and Training as Minister and Head of the Government Office.
He was appointed to replace Vu Duc Dam, who was ratified to take over the position of a Deputy Prime Minister by the NA yesterday.
Nguyen Van Nen, born on 14 July 1957, is a bachelor of law.
He was a member of the Standing Committee of the Go Dau district Party Committee, Head of the Go Dau district police, Tay Ninh province; a member of the provincial Party Executive Committee and Secretary of the Go Dau district Party Committee; Head of the Tay Ninh provincial Committee on Organization; Deputy Secretary of the Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Deputy Secretary of the Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Secretary of the Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee; a member of the Party Central Committee term XI; Standing Deputy Head of the Central Highlands Steering Committee; and now Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Popularization and Training.
Speaking at the NA after the approval, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said he hoped Mr. Nen would do his utmost to excellently realise the tasks as Minister and Head of the Government Office./.
