Total tourism turnover of the city during the period posted over VND76 trillion, up 19 percent in comparison to the same period last year.
In November, the number of foreign tourists to the city reached an estimated 419,000, a 15 percent rise against a year previous. Of this, arrivals to the city by air were nearly 336,000, up 15 percent, while those by road and sea were 83,900, up 15 percent.
Aiming to attract both domestic and foreign tourists to the city in the rest of the year, it will organise the program, “Doing the shopping in Vietnam 2013″, from December 1 to 31. About 500 organisers operating in shopping centres, accommodation services and gastronomy outlets with more than 1,000 locations will take part the programme.
To carry out tourism promotion and popularization for the city, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will release four publications, including Travel Guide, City Guide, Calendar of Events and Travel Maps. These publications are translated into nine languages of Vietnamese, English, French, German, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Chinese and Arabic./.
