Ship for South East Asia Youth Program 2013 comes to Ho Chi Minh city

On November 14, the ship Nippon Maru carrying 329 youth delegates from Japan and 10 Southeast Asian countries arrived in Saigon Port in Ho Chi Minh city to begin cultural exchange activities in Vietnam under the Ship for South East Asia Youth Program (SSEAYP) 2013.

About 1,000 young people welcomed the ship.


During four days in Ho Chi Minh city from November 14 – 17, members of SSEAYP will visit historical and cultural relics, exchange with Ho Chi Minh city, and join a homestay program to learn the traditional culture and daily life of the people of Vietnam.


Particularly, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between ASEAN and Japan, as well as the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, representatives of the countries participated in an ASEAN-Japan Youth Festival on the evening of November 14 with special music and dance performance, and memorabilia exhibition from through programs./.
