PANO – Song Thu one-member Company Ltd. has changed into Song Thu Corporation, announced the Ministry of National Defence.

The information was stated in a ceremony, held on Nov. 8th by the General Department of Defence Industry in the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Le Huu Duc, Deputy Minister of National Defence.
Accordingly, authorized by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of National Defence signed Decision 4851/QĐ-BQP, dated June 5th, 2013, to implement the move.
Established on October 10th, 1976, the company got a turnover to over VND 1,500 billion in 2013 from just VND 50 billion in 2004 by building many patrol vessels, tug-boats, and specialized and modern ships.
Addressing the ceremony, the Deputy Defence Minister stressed that during the development of the unit, generations of cadres, technicians and workers have united to overcome all difficulties to fulfill their tasks of building and repairing ships.
He also praised the unit’s efforts to fulfill its tasks and bring into play the dynamic and creativeness, deserving to be a leading shipbuilding company of Vietnam People’s Army.
