ANA said in a statement obtained by the Daily on Monday that there would be a daily service on this new route. As scheduled, its flight NH858 will depart from Noi Bai International Airport at 2 p.m. in Hanoi and to Haneda Airport at 9:05 p.m. The return flight NH857 will take off the airport in Japan at 8:55 a.m. to the airport in Hanoi at 12:05 p.m.
The Star Alliance’s core member said reservation and ticketing would be open from December 19 this year, and all fare levels would be available from the middle of February. From June 2014, the carrier will operate its Boeing 787 Dreamliner for flights on the route, which will be the first aircraft of this type flying to Vietnam.
The Tokyo-Hanoi route and its first-ever service to Vancouver are ANA’s efforts to cash in on the expected increase in demand for both direct and indirect flights between Japan and Asia and between North America and Asia.
According to ANA, Tokyo International Airport, commonly known as Haneda Airport or Tokyo Haneda Airport, was one of the two primary airports that serve the Greater Tokyo Area in Japan. It is located in Tokyo, 14 km south of Tokyo Station.
Currently, ANA also performs flights between Narita International Airport in Tokyo and Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC.
ANA said it was the largest airline in Japan by passenger number in 2012 when it carried 45 million passengers and generated revenues of US$15.8 billion. Today, the carrier flies to 31 international destinations and 50 domestic cities with a fleet of 232 aircraft serving a network of 175 routes.
