HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam hopes to receive more assistance from international friends and donors to ensure continuing results in preventing HIV/AIDS and controlling prostitution, said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The country still had to face many difficulties in HIV/AIDS and prostitution prevention, such as reduction in international assistance and emerging issues, he said.

The deputy PM while receiving ambassadors and representatives of international organisations and donors yesterday thanked international organizations for their financial and technical support and experience, shared with Viet Nam.

UN Resident Co-ordinator in Viet Nam Pratibha Mehta said she appreciated Viet Nam’s effort in economic and societal development and in HIV/AIDS and prostitution prevention and control.
