The provincial Lawyers’ Association (PLA) on 28 December held the 8th Congress of the 2013-2018 tenure.
In the last tenure, the PLA worked with customers on 3,509 cases, including 628 criminal cases, 252 civil cases, 1,011 administrative and commercial business cases, 30 cases of representation in non-litigation matters, 256 legal counseling cases, etc.
Member lawyers conducted 1,228 free legal assistance cases; many of the beneficiaries were policy objects, children, the poor, the handicapped, etc.
The PLA now has 41 members. There are 19 lawyer practising organizations in the province (17 lawyer offices and two law firms).
Lawyer Tran Dai Bieu was elected as PLA Chairman in the 2013-2018 tenure at the congress.
